HOW TO ORDER

CHARGE: For most orders, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
CHECKS: Personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks, business checks, and government or institution-issued checks are accepted by pre-arrangement only. HANDLING/SERVICE CHARGES

Although we must always charge shipping (above), there are NO extra service charges on orders over $25.00 shipped throughout the US or US territories by our usual means of shipping.
 

Orders under $25.00 incur a $3.00 service charge.
We would love for you to order anything you like. Even the smallest orders are important to us. However, because our prices are discounted, and in order to keep our prices to you at the lowest possible level, we must charge a $3.00 service fee on orders under $25.00.

PRICE CHANGES

Because we deal with literally hundreds of suppliers and manufacturers and suppliers' prices change, our prices are in constant flux. Prices in our internet catalogue are kept current on a daily basis and are rarely different than the site shows. However, we are not responsible for typographical errors, and prices and availability are subject to change without notice.

Prices in our printed catalog are sometimes not as current as we'd like due to the fact that print is impossible to change after it is printed. Prices on the internet will always be more current than those of the printed catalog and will be deemed to be the right price regardless of the printed materials.

BACKORDERS AND DISCONTINUED

From time to time (and much to our dismay), shortages and out of stocks will occur. Items may be backordered for three reasons:
 
  • There is more demand for the item than we originally anticipated, and our suppliers have to re-supply us with the additional inventory.
     
  • The manufacturer has failed to ship to us in a timely manner due to a shortage of parts, materials, etc.
     
  • Transportation strikes, natural disasters, etc.
  •  
    When we experience an out of stock situation, your entire order will be shipped at one time if the out of stock item arrives within 5-10 working days of the date of your order.
     
    If we don't anticipate being able to restock quickly enough to meet the 10-working day limit, your order may be shipped minus the out of stock item. At that time, out-of-stock items priced over $15.00 will be treated as a backorder unless the customer requests that we not ship backorders. Out-of-stock items priced under $15.00 will be deleted from the order, and you will be asked to re-order at another time.

    For standard-sized backordered items, freight will be calculated on the entire order, charged on the first part, and the backordered items will be sent as quickly as possible with no additional freight charges. Oversized-backordered items (those marked with *'s) will be charged the actual freight when they are shipped.

    If we don't anticipate re-stock of an item in a reasonable amount of time, your order will be shipped minus the out of stock item, and you will be asked to re-order at another time.

    Discontinued items will, of course, not be shipped.

    You will receive a notice on your emailed invoice indicating the dispensation of any items not shipped.

    SIZES

    No two animals are alike. We will print the most accurate details possible of item sizes and recommendations for fit if we know them. However, all sizes are approximate, and we can NOT guarantee items as far as the fit for your individual pet.

    Bedding is sized as human linens are sized - before the seams are sewn and the item is stuffed. Therefore, when the item is stuffed, it's apparent length and width may seem smaller than the un-stuffed dimensions.

    Collars are different from different manufacturers. Some print a measurement that is from tip of buckle to tip of material. Others measure from middle of buckle to longest hole. We try to make this clear on the site and give you a general idea of how to measure to get a good fit. Of course, the fit is not exact nor guaranteed due to the variation in individuals. If your pet is likely to gain weight or grow, you will also want to plan a little extra growing room.

    All dimensions are approximate. We try to be as accurate as possible but do not guarantee precision beyond accuracy within an inch or so.

    TAX

    Retail tax is charged only to shipments shipped to or ordered by persons living in Texas. Even Texas residents can save on taxes! Our tax rate is 8.25%!
     

     

    SPECIAL ORDERS

    Some items are available but not stocked by our warehouses. They can be ordered from the manufacturers and shipped either through our warehouse or direct from the manufacturers to you. These items take a little more time to coordinate and ship, may incur an extra handling charge, and are non-returnable items.
     
    For special Order Items, any warranty or shipping damage issues are worked out through the manufacturer directly. We'll be glad to provide the contact information.
     
    Special Order Items may not be returnable. If returnable, they require a Return Merchandise Authorization prior to return, must be returned directly to the manufacturer, and will be charged a 25% - 50% restocking charge.

    If, upon viewing an item, you're not delighted with any merchandise you buy from us, just return it to us or to the shipping center from which it came,  IN NEW, UNSED CONDITION.

    Send any return prepaid, insured, IN NEW, UNUSED CONDITION with its original parts, instructions, packaging, and your invoice (or a copy) within 30 days of the date on the original invoice. It must be in acceptable condition to send to our next valued customer as it is when we receive it back from you.

    Items that do not meet these few conditions will be subject to a restocking fee or, at the Company's option, returned to the customer without a refund. Shipping costs on any package returned to you will be charged to your account.

    ORDER CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS

    Once an order enters the fulfillment process, it cannot be changed or cancelled. We send orders directly to the warehouse, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If it has left customer service to enter the shipping process, it cannot be cancelled by you or by our customer service department.
     
    If you wish to cancel an order after we have processed or shipped and before you have received it, please call our service desk to request an authorization to refuse receipt to avoid the 20% restocking fee. Due to UPS and FEDEX Policies, shipping will be charged both ways on refused items.
     
    We cannot re-route or stop a shipment that has already entered UPS or FEDEX systems.

    SHIPPING REFUSALS

    ChildrensToyBox strives to give you the best service available anywhere. An order placed and shipped from our warehouse at your request is considered your responsibility as soon as it leaves our warehouse. Should you decide that you wish to refuse receipt of an item legitimately ordered from us (which has already been processed and handled through our order and shipping department) credit will be issued for the item, minus shipping charges both directions and minus a 25% restocking fee.

    DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE

    We purchase from the most reputable manufacturers and there is rarely an issue with defective products. However, factories make the occasional mistake.

    If an item doesn't work properly, please call the manufacturer (listed in the product literature) or e-mail our customer service department to report the problem immediately. In most cases (because we're not experts at diagnosing problems), we will put you into direct touch with the manufacturer.

    Defective items will be replaced with the identical item or handled by the manufacturer directly.

    ITEMS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING

    We ship by the most efficient means possible. However, damage occasionally occurs.

    If a package appears to have obvious damage on the outside which may affect the product inside, please refuse shipment at your door or ask the carrier to note the damage on his shipping manifest and call our customer service department within 24 hours to report any damage sustained.

    If you find damage subsequent to delivery, save all of the packaging and packing materials and call our customer service department within 24 hours (1 business day) of receipt.

     
    Inspection prior to acceptance is even more important for large items shipped by Motor Freight carriers.

    For Motor Freight Deliveries: The customer must inspect the delivered item for damage (both external and not visible from the outside) upon receipt of the merchandise. That requires removing any shrink wrapping, cardboard or other packing materials so that all aspects can be inspected. Any damage should be noted on the carrier's acceptance report, and such damage reported to ChildrensToyBox within 24 hours of delivery.
     
    Once the product is accepted by the Customer without notation of damage, damage incurred becomes the responsibility of the Customer, and (while ChildrensToyBox will help file any latent damage claim) ChildrensToyBox is not liable for damage incurred subsequent to receipt and acceptance of the product.

    In all cases of damage, save all of the packaging and packing materials and call our customer service department within 24 hours (1 business day) of receipt.

    HOW WE DELIVER ORDERS WITHIN LOWER 48 CONTINENTAL U.S.

    We routinely ship Domestic (continental US) orders by UPS, Fed Ex, or USPS ground transportation. UPS and Fed Ex will not deliver to a post office box. For this reason, please provide us with a physical address for delivery rather than a Post Office Box.
     
    Additionally, some very light weight orders may ship by regular post right to your mail box. Some oversize or inordinately heavy items may be shipped by Motor Freight. In that case, we will need your exact address to estimate charges.

    Customers who request US Postal delivery or who give us only a Postal address to which to deliver will be delivered by USPS and are charged according to the policies for postal orders below.

    Most orders can leave our warehouse within 24-48 hours of receipt of the order.

    ChildrensToyBox ships for as low as $7.95. Domestic ground shipping charges on most orders are inexpensive and easy to calculate before you finalize your order.

    In some places in our catalog, items are listed in case quantities. For those items, orders of multiple single packs will be billed at multiple pack rates where the number of individual items equals the multiple pack.

    Because we have not anticipated all possible large volume or extra heavy purchases to single individuals, heavy or large volume orders may incur extra shipping above that calculated by the order cart. We reserve the right to limit quantities and/or charge actual shipping charges on bulk quantity orders weighing over 20 Lbs.

    An oversized item is one whose weight may be under 30 Lb. but whose physical dimensions and bulky appearance take up extra room in the cargo area of the shipper's transport vehicles. These items are charged for 30 Lb of weight even though they do not weigh 30 Lb.

    A double oversized item is one whose weight is over 30 Lbs and under 70 Lb. but whose physical dimensions and bulky appearance take up extra room in the cargo area of the shipper's transport vehicles. These items are charged for 70 Lb of weight even though they do not weigh 70 Lb.

     

    SHIPPING TIME FOR ORDERS WITHIN CONTINENTAL U.S.

    Shipping time = order processing time + shipping option you have chosen on your order.

    Please allow several days for standard delivery of most items within the continental US. Domestic UPS takes 1-5 business working days for delivery. We can usually ship your order from our warehouse or the warehouse of the manufacturer or supplier within 1-3 working days of receipt of the order.

    UPS, Fed Ex, US Postal Service, and the shipping departments of our suppliers are not under our employ, and we cannot guarantee exact delivery.

    Because the arrival time of your order is often dictated by conditions which are out of our control, we would rather err on the side of caution than promise our customers what others may not be able to do.

    We will not normally be alarmed nor trace any usual ground shipments until at least 5 days after shipping.

    Express UPS shipments are guaranteed by UPS to arrive on schedule. UPS Ground and USPS postal priority are not guaranteed by the shipper to arrive on any special time schedule.

    EXPRESS SHIPPING FOR ORDERS WITHIN LOWER 48 CONTINENTAL U.S.

    Express shipments are usually available, but remember that we charge additional shipping charges for all UPS 3 Day, 2nd DAY AIR and NEXT DAY AIR SAVER orders. Also remember that Express packages do not travel nor get delivered on Holidays or Weekends.

    For Rush shipping, items in our catalog must be evaluated by dimensional weight rather than by their actual weight, which may result in an item or order being considered oversized and not able to be shipped by Rush means at the price quoted in the order cart. ChildrensToyBox will try to contact you when an item or order is disqualified from quoted charges, and would result in additional charges. If we cannot reach you by shipping time, we reserve the right to ship those orders by the next fastest method available priced within the freight charges quoted on your order (regardless of the method chosen at the time of checkout).

    Orders which include items marked with *'s or which include heavy or oversize shipping charges cannot be ordered using by Rush means even if the order cart allows you to select that option.     HOW WE DELIVER AK, HI, APO & U.S. TERRITORIES, PO BOXES

     

    Yes, we can ship to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories outside the contiguous 48 states and to PO Boxes by U.S. Postal Service or Postal Priority Mail. Additionally, sensitive to the plight of our many troops in foreign countries, we can now ship to APO or FPO addresses. Please designate "Priority Mail" as your Primary Shipping Method and expect *extra charges of approximately $1.25 per pound for that delivery. (See regular shipping chart above and add approx $1.25 per lb)

     
    Most orders to Postal addresses ship by Priority mail with additional charges that may not show in the order cart (* see above). Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories outside the contiguous 48 states that request UPS Ground service will also be charged additional charges (higher than Postal)due to the added expense of that service to those outlying areas.

     

     
    Some extra heavy or dense items may ship regular post (i.e. foods or litter etc). Aerosols and some products with hazardous contents such as pesticides (defined by the govt) cannot ship by air. In those cases, shipping times are longer and no tracking is provided by the U.S. Post Office, which complicates the process. Although we anticipate few problems, we can make no guarantees of adequate delivery.

     

    Unfortunately, many of our distributors and suppliers will not ship by U.S. Postal Service. Therefore, some items incur longer shipping time as they must be shipped to our Texas warehouse before being sent to these addresses. They may also incur an additional charge for shipping to the warehouse before shipping to you.

    We can usually ship your order from our warehouse within 1-3 Business Day of receipt of the order. However, most of our suppliers will not ship by post. Therefore, APO/FPO orders are usually shipped only from the home location of ChildrensToyBox in Cedar Park, Texas. This sometimes occasions some delay in shipping while an item travels from its original supplier to Texas FIRST and is then shipped to you.

    The arrival time of your order is also dictated by conditions which are out of our control. We would rather err on the side of caution than promise our customers what others may not be able to do.

    Usual U.S. Postal Priority timing should be calculated for all orders outside the contiguous 48 states. APO/FPO Post can take from 2-6 weeks to reach you.

    EXPRESS SHIPPING TO APO & U.S. TERRITORIES

    Most APO/FPO addresses have the following general restrictions:
    • * Packages may not exceed 70 lbs. (Some zip codes have lower limits)
    • * Packages may not exceed 130 inches in combined length and girth. (This means if you have a package that is 100" in length and 40" when you measure around it, you cannot send the item)
    • * All packages must be sent via the U.S. Postal System. The post office also requires companies or individuals to hand deliver packages being sent to APO/FPO addresses. (This is one reason why many merchants won't ship to APO/FPO addresses.)
    • * Firearms, alcohol, perishable food items and certain hazardous items also are restricted. Each zip code may have an even more detailed list of the restrictions for certain types of products.

    HOW TO PAY FOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

     
    At this time, due to varying country restrictions, ChildrensToyBox is are unable to ship all products to all countries.

    We rarely ship to South America, Eastern Europe, S.E. Asia. We often ship to UK, Great Britain, Western Europe, Australia, Canada, and other western countries.

    If you are using a credit card, the exact name of the cardholder must match the shipping address. In some cases, please be prepared to fax us a photo ID (passport or driver's license picture) and a copy of the credit card as well as a signed copy of the credit card receipt which we will first fax to you.

     

    All prices are in US funds. Some international orders can be shipped using your credit card as payment. However, ChildrensToyBox reserves the right to require direct bank transfer of funds in some situations.

    (Wire transfers are fairly simple and usually take 3-5 business days for the transfer to be accomplished) Additionally, the intermediary bank charges $20.00 fees which are deducted directly out of your transfer before it gets to our bank. In anticipation of that, the extra $20.00 must be added into your wire transfer in addition to any total for products, shipping, and international handling charges.

    HOW WE DELIVER INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

    Every country is different, and each international order presents its own challenges.

    Most international orders will be shipped by UPS International. Canada is shipped by United States Postal Service. We will quote freight charges on your order before it is shipped. We apply actual freight charges and also additional handling fees
    depending on the merchandise total of the order:
     
     
    Shipping and delivery dates are not guaranteed. All prices, policies, shipping charges, and processing fees are subject to change without notice. All out-of-stock items will be cancelled (no back-orders will ship and customers will be notified of this before shipping of the order). Items shipped incorrectly or damaged in shipment cannot be returned, and all warranties are through the manufacturer only.

Therefore all orders which are billed to or shipped to international addresses will be assessed $10.00 in handling charges.
     
     
    Orders under $75.00 usually cannot ship.
     
     

    ITEMS WHICH CANNOT SHIP INTERNATIONALLY

    Some items are too large or too dangerous to ship economically by air travel. Items such as petroleum-based solvents or aerosol cans cannot be shipped internationally.
     
    Large, heavy, or bulky items are just not practical. The freight is simply too expensive. (Any item with an * in its description is too large for international shipping.)

    We look at each individual order to determine feasibility.

     
     
     

    CUSTOMS, DUTIES, AND TARRIFS

     
    Many countries impose tariffs and customs duties on shipments from the United States. Any charges at the delivery end are the responsibility of the receiving customer.

    Additionally, some countries have restrictions on the type of goods which can be legally imported. We try to keep abreast of limitations, but it is not always possible. Any breach of import/export law which requires the return of the goods to ChildrensToyBox will be the responsibility of the receiving customer.

    Upon return of the merchandise, a refund will be credited to the customer, less 20% restocking charge and any freight and handling charges
     
     
     
     

    INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES

    Shipping is actual shipping charges, FOB Austin, Texas or actual origination.
     
    As a courtesy to ChildrensToyBox' International clients, each international customer who places an order will be contacted via e-mail with the exact shipping charges and asked to approve the charges BEFORE the order is shipped. No order is shipped without follow-up written approval from the ordering customer.

    Almost no order ever ships for less than 3 Lb. actual or dimensional weight.

    SHIPPING OVERSIZED ITEMS INTERNATIONALLY

    There are size (length and girth) restrictions as well as weight restrictions on International parcel travel. For this reason, heavy or large, bulky items cannot be shipped by any reasonable means. We suggest packages no more than 1-7 Lbs (by dimensional weight calculations above), and no item with an * in its description.
     
     

    INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING TIME

    Because of the complexity of international shipping, it is hard to give general guidelines about timing of shipping. Shipping and delivery dates are not guaranteed. Some countries can only receive shipments by UPS or FED EX overnight service.

    We can usually ship your order from our warehouse within 12-48 hours of receipt of your approval of the order. However, most of our suppliers either will not ship internationally at all or ship only in the most expensive manner. Therefore, international items are usually shipped only from the home location of ChildrensToyBox in Austin, Texas. This sometimes occasions a short delay in shipping while an item travels from its original supplier to Texas FIRST and is then shipped to you.

    Most of our international shipments travel by UPS International which takes from 5-7 days. Sometimes Customs delays the package arrival on your end. The arrival time of your order is dictated by other conditions which are out of our control. We would rather err on the side of caution than promise our customers what others may not be able to do.
     

    INTERNATIONAL ELECTRICAL CURRENT

    Does your country use 220-240 Volt power?
    Many countries use 220-240 volt power sources. The USA uses 110 Volt power source. All electrical items listed are made for 110 volt power unless specifically stated otherwise.

    Batteries? If you are ordering an item that uses custom batteries, it is a good idea to order a few replacement batteries at the time of your order as shipping them separately at a later date is expensive.
     
     

    INTERNATIONAL PRODUCT WARRANTIES

    International customers must work directly with manufacturers for defective merchandise. Should the need arise, ChildrensToyBox will be glad to give Manufacturer contact information via e-mail to international customers who need it. Under no circumstances, and at no time will ChildrensToyBox be responsible for return shipping charges, replacement, or repair or any item shipped internationally which is found to be defective.

    Changes can only be effected if they are requested BEFORE processing time on the day of the order. In most cases, that is a VERY SMALL window of time.
     
    Once an order enters the fulfillment process, it cannot be changed or cancelled. We send orders directly to the warehouse, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If it has left customer service to enter the shipping process, it cannot be cancelled by you or by our customer service department. Our sales staff will be delighted to help you make a new order for additional items or access return forms to return an unwanted item Monday through Thursday 10am-5pm & Friday 10am-2pm United States CST.
